Jimmy, Answer Me!!!!

Is this not the funniest picture? I have laughed everytime I see it or think about it. It is amazing how a funny picture can change your mood. I have needed it the last 2 days.
I have been kinda blah and believe it stems from the fact that it will be another stinkin' week before I get my car back. I want it to be right................ but enough is enough. First it is the O2 sensor, then the head gasket, now it is leaking coolant and has some sort of code showing up. They are now telling me Wednesday, hello that is July 4th.......... can we shoot for Tuesday???? Pleassssssssssseeeee.........................
It could be worse, alot worse, and I realize that.......I am thankful I have a rental car. I do have a way to get around. I also am thankful for insurance and that they are footing the entire bill minus my deductible.
I finished summer school on the 22nd so I have been doing whatever I want, whenever I want. Wednesday I went to the pool with Anne and the kids + Joshua. No, I didn't wear sunscreen but I am okay, a little red, but fine. Laying out in the sun led to Anne and I deciding that we wanted to go to the beach, how much we could afford, and booking a 4 day trip to Hilton Head, SC for July 15th......... the kids are very excited. I am too. I have never been. My only dilemma now is who will watch my little puddle splasher (we have asked her Grandma and Grandpa).
Thursday I had a doctors appointment, which ended up being a bonding session with Kathy in that I picked her up from work and took her to get her car (was in shop, now back at shop too..... sensing a pattern with us?) then bonded with her boys (the lecturing bond that is). I was whooped when I got home. THat is the most I had done in 4 days!
Here it is Saturday. 3 weeks since I got my car. Sporting the Malibu Max (imagine malibu with hatch back --- think station wagon).
Hoping I get Sophie by Tuesday and not holding my breathe, Carol

Another week.................

I am surviving with out my new ride, now named Sophie. I hate the rental car. It wiggles and jiggles much like Jell-O. They say it will be another week until I get her back. I am hoping by this Friday.

My week was unexpectedly busy. With summer school and appointments, I was on my toes.
Monday, I wanted to return Mom's car to her and so I headed to Knox. to meet Anne after her doctor's appt. Well, one thing led to another and Kathy ended up getting me after she got off work and took me home. It was God's way of saying that I needed to spend that time with Kathy. Kathy and I ended up REALLY talking Monday nite. Apparently I said some things that struck a cord with her and allowed her to let go of some issues. She seems to think I helped, but she said some things to me the next day that hit home with me and has allowed me to get even stronger. Hey Kathy..... those ancient words of wisdom swing both ways..... Thank you.

Tuesday evening, I was chillin' here at home when Anne called to say that they had an emergency and Arissa needed her Aunt Carol to meet them at Children's Hospital. Arissa had a slight mishap with her bike and proceeded to "burn" a chunk out of her knee and elbow. She is healing nicely, having to go through the same recovery as a burn patient. Anne says she handles it the best she can. I am thankful she asked me to come to her and of course I immediately jumped in the crappy rental and woggedy down the road.

Tomorrow is Father's Day and a special day for me and my daddy...... yes, there are two more sisters, but this last year has shown me the kind of father I have. One full of compassion, a heart bigger than you can imagine, and love for me I had never known until November. I now know my Daddy will go to the ends of the earth for us and do whatever he has to get the best for us girls, even if it eats him up inside. For that, I will forever be grateful........

29 hours ..........................................

A mere 29 hours after driving my New car off of the lot........................BAM................ Daisy Deer decides to leap across Gallaher Rd. in Kingston and mess up my new ride!!! She hit me, I did not hit her. Had she been standing in the road and gazed at me upon my arrival, then yes, I would have hit her. But instead, she leaps out of nowhere onto the front of my car. I yelled words I shouldn't have, turned around to see Daisy flailing on the side of the rode, then headed for the BP to assess the damages. (Directly after hitting Daisy I called Anne and vented!!)

I decided I wanted to drive it home since it appeared driveable and it was 1:30 in the morning. With the Lord by my side, I safely slid the car into the garage, where she resided until 1:45 this afternoon when Eddie's Auto Body sent a tow truck to get her.

At 2 in the morning, nothing ever seems that bad. Yesterday afternoon, Anne and Steve brought me Mom's car to use since she is still in Florida taking care of her mom. Upon further examination of said damage, we realized that it wasn't fiberglass like I thought it was, it was deer hair and deer blood and who knows what else. Any one that knows me, knows that I am a city girl to the tee.............. deer anything does not appeal to me. My father and a guy friend of mine even asked if I stopped and put the deer in my car to bring home?????? What are they on??? Hellllo .............. yucky, I am not into deer jerky, deer stew, or anything that starts with deer.
The moral of my story is that I have not been upset to the extent it sent me into a come apart. I have laughed and smiled about it. They have already called with the estimate and thank God I have insurance..................$5181.97.................... and a rental car.

(Oh yeah, I am okay. Airbags never budged!!)

Busy Little Bee

For someone who thought her life would be boring and less chaotic once school got out, I have been very busy. Since school got out, I have managed to find activities (or the activities have found me) to fill my afternoons. I thought I would have oodles of free time since I am no longer the cheerleading coach. WRONG....... in a good way of course.

Memorial Day weekend started out with an impromptu trip to the nail salon and lunch with Anne. That evening, I was so excited to be going out.....yes out with a friend whom I am blessed to have reconnected with after a few months. From the moment Kelly and I met, we clicked. She and I think the exact same way and feed off of each other. We had an absolute blast hanging out and talking and being goofy as possible. I literally felt life come back into my heart. We ended up going to dinner on Monday night, going out this past Saturday night with another friend of ours and have plans this Saturday. More than anything, I am thrilled to have plans and things to do. My life has been so humdrum, especially on the weekends. I am welcoming the weekend get togethers with arms stretched wide.

I began teaching summer school on Thursday. I am there from 8 to 12, the kids use a program on the computer, and yes, I get bored. I am glad to offer it to the students and let's get real, it's extra income. Contrary to what my students think, I do not make the big bucks teaching.

I have spent my afternoons running errands, going to therapy, joining Anne for doctor appointments, visiting a former cheerleader in the hospital, driving with Anne to KY to get Mom and take her to the Nashville Airport (long story), shopping, and yesterday, car shopping!!! (I will definitely post when I get something)

Anne is not working this summer so that she can fully recover from her bout of mono. I am looking forward to being able to do more things with her and the kids. She has joined a fitness club and is going to bulk up and kick all our butts.

That is where I am at right now.....busy, busy, and lovin life.
