Father's Day Fun.............................

Good times at the Stratman and Jones houses were had on Father's Day. I went to Mom and Dad's while Jerry and the girls spent the day with Papaw.
We ate hamburgers, hot dogs, pasta salad and yummy desserts!!!

Here is a picture of me stirring the pasta salad. Since I don't cook, this is a monumental moment.

Me at 27 weeks.................

As I type this I am entering my 28th week, only 12 to go. I failed the 1 hour glucose test of last week and had to do the 3 hour glucose test this past Weds................. and I passed. I was very relieved. As Anne has stated, this pregnancy has had its little quirks and we are not surprised when things appear abnormal. But as of today, I am doing good. It's getting harder to do things like sit up from laying down, bend over, breathe, etc. I am aware all of that will get worse before it gets better and will get better in about 12 weeks!!!!! I go to the doctor again on July 1st and will go every 2 weeks until my last month.

Okay, now on to the rest of Father's Day................ As I left Mom and Dad's, I had 2 little girls join me for an impromptu sleepover. Kamry and Arissa were coming to Aunt Carol's but not before we went to Jerry's house for a visit. We had a house full of girls.............. his niece, Courtney, Olivia, Chloe, Kamry, and Arissa. In true Jerry style, he took them each for a ride on the 4 wheeler. Of course his girls were all about it. They have been doing this since birth, but not Kamry and Arissa. This was a first for them. Kamry was not impressed but said she had fun. Arissa is still talking about how Awesome it was.

Arissa after her ride. Check out that hair!!!

When they were done riding, we piled into 2 different cars and headed to the local park to play. We were there for a few hours and the kids all had a blast. They played in the creek, ate mullberries, tried to catch crawdads, and helped Jerry dam up the creek. Yes, he had fun too. The girls and I packed up and went to meet Kathy to get their sleepover bags and we were headed home. They got up with me the next morning and went to Summer school, getting to play on Webkinz the whole time. We came home, ate lunch, and they played in my little pool on the deck. Before we knew it, it was time to meet Kathy and for the girls to go home. They didn't want to go home. We told them summer isn't over and they can come back some time.

Summer's Here.............

Yes, I am still alive. I know I haven't written since April, but when you are a teacher, the month of May tends to get quite busy. During May, I found out my thyroid is still completely out of wack. It is the reason why I still want to sleep all the time. My doctor and I are working on this by adjusting my medicine. I had my monthly check up with the OB and he assured me that all of my concerns and ailments would disappear within about 18 weeks. (As of today I am 25 weeks and 1 day along................. only 15 more weeks to go) My next appointment, June 10th, I get to drink the orange liquid of wonder for my glucose test. Good times, good times.

Instead of a birthday party at school, one of my classes gave me a baby shower. I got all kinds of goodies. It was so thoughtful of them and I had a blast. I am pretty sure the next 2 weeks were a blur with end of the school year business. Our last day was May 30th. With the end of the school year came the end of Joshua living with his mean, old Aunt Carol. He went home on May 29th. It is weird not having him here, but he needs to be home and he did so well this year. He ended up with A's, B's, and 1 C. I am so proud of him. He has not only proved to himself, but to everyone else, that he is very capable of succeeding in school. I know his future at Oak Ridge High School will be just as successful.

Mom, Kathy, Anne, and myself, went to register for baby gear Memorial Day weekend. I think I was in a small cloud of "oh crap, I AM having a baby." I vaguely remember walking through Babys R Us with that scanner gun and hearing the girls say, "you'll need that". So I would zap it. I came to realize that I am not ready for butt paste, binkies, breast feeding, and boppy pillows!!! We also went to Target and found more goodies I would "need".

This past Sunday, Jerry, the girls, his brother Scott, his girlfriend, Becky, and myself, went fishing. The cove we went to was full of blue gill and something called Gar. I called it a Garth and in the water it resembled an eel from a distance. I never did catch it, but I tried. I did catch a few blue gill and we had a wonderful afternoon.

Me and one of the blue gill I caught.

The girls have discovered honeysuckle.

I started "teaching" summer school yesterday. I sit and play on the computer from 8:30 to 11:30, Monday thru Friday until June 24th. It's extra money and apparently easy to do. This is my 3rd year of doing it. I think the kids get bored, but it serves them right. They should have worked during the school year. I don't mind doing it, especially if the kids appreciate it, and some of them actually do.

Now that it is summer time, I will attempt to update more. I promise to do better Kelly!!!!
