Summer's Here.............

Yes, I am still alive. I know I haven't written since April, but when you are a teacher, the month of May tends to get quite busy. During May, I found out my thyroid is still completely out of wack. It is the reason why I still want to sleep all the time. My doctor and I are working on this by adjusting my medicine. I had my monthly check up with the OB and he assured me that all of my concerns and ailments would disappear within about 18 weeks. (As of today I am 25 weeks and 1 day along................. only 15 more weeks to go) My next appointment, June 10th, I get to drink the orange liquid of wonder for my glucose test. Good times, good times.

Instead of a birthday party at school, one of my classes gave me a baby shower. I got all kinds of goodies. It was so thoughtful of them and I had a blast. I am pretty sure the next 2 weeks were a blur with end of the school year business. Our last day was May 30th. With the end of the school year came the end of Joshua living with his mean, old Aunt Carol. He went home on May 29th. It is weird not having him here, but he needs to be home and he did so well this year. He ended up with A's, B's, and 1 C. I am so proud of him. He has not only proved to himself, but to everyone else, that he is very capable of succeeding in school. I know his future at Oak Ridge High School will be just as successful.

Mom, Kathy, Anne, and myself, went to register for baby gear Memorial Day weekend. I think I was in a small cloud of "oh crap, I AM having a baby." I vaguely remember walking through Babys R Us with that scanner gun and hearing the girls say, "you'll need that". So I would zap it. I came to realize that I am not ready for butt paste, binkies, breast feeding, and boppy pillows!!! We also went to Target and found more goodies I would "need".

This past Sunday, Jerry, the girls, his brother Scott, his girlfriend, Becky, and myself, went fishing. The cove we went to was full of blue gill and something called Gar. I called it a Garth and in the water it resembled an eel from a distance. I never did catch it, but I tried. I did catch a few blue gill and we had a wonderful afternoon.

Me and one of the blue gill I caught.

The girls have discovered honeysuckle.

I started "teaching" summer school yesterday. I sit and play on the computer from 8:30 to 11:30, Monday thru Friday until June 24th. It's extra money and apparently easy to do. This is my 3rd year of doing it. I think the kids get bored, but it serves them right. They should have worked during the school year. I don't mind doing it, especially if the kids appreciate it, and some of them actually do.

Now that it is summer time, I will attempt to update more. I promise to do better Kelly!!!!
